Get Ready to Move and Play Outside!

With support from Rehabilitation in Motion, Active Comox Valley has mapped an inventory of outside sports courts, parks, playgrounds, disc golf courses and more, to help get you active for free or little cost.

There are activities throughout the Valley for all ages and abilities so round up the family, bring along some friends and fit in some playtime. Play a pick-up game of basketball or soccer, take the kids or grandkids to the playground for some fresh air and fun, or an old-fashioned game of horseshoes! Teens can have a blast catching some air at the local BMX or skate park!

Pick up a copy at your local recreation centre or download one at www.activecomoxvalley.ca/activities. Check out the online version of this map which pinpoints the outdoor rec opportunities in your neighbourhood and directions on how to get there!

And don’t forget to pick up copies of our popular ’12 Great Places’ trail maps too!

“Active is for Life” campaign.

Active Comox Valley is encouraging local residents to get moving without putting a dent in their wallet or daily schedule.

With the help of a grant from the BC Recreation and Parks Association and the Heart and Stroke Association of BC & Yukon, a guide to free and low-cost activities (less than $5) for adults is available here or pick up a copy at your local recreation centre.

The grant is part of several joint initiatives the BC Recreation and Parks Association and the Heart & Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon are implementing as part of its work with the BC Healthy Living Alliance, a coalition of organizations that came together to improve the health of British Columbians. The BC Healthy Living Alliance is funded with support from ActNow BC.

Get ready, get set for 12 More Great Places to Get Active For Free in the Comox Valley!

In partnership with the Cycling Task Force, ACV has produced a third trail map to help get residents up and active by foot or by wheels to explore the region. Twelve trails featuring six favorite cycling routes (both road and mountain biking) are highlighted, along with trails that are wheelchair accessible and pet-friendly throughout many of our communities — Denman Island, Fanny Bay, and Cumberland to name a few. Download a copy here or pick one up at your local rec centre or Visitor Information Centre. Happy trails!
