There are many ways to get active at little or no cost in the Comox Valley. FREE SATURDAY SWIMS AT THE CV AQUATIC CENTRE!Free Saturday swims run until August 21st at the Aquatic Centre, sponsored by Canadian Western Bank -- 1 to 4:30 pm. Everyone welcome - hit the wave pool, slides, sauna and hot tub for some splashing summer fun! GET IN SHAPE WITH ACV'S LENDING LIBRARY! ACV is excited to launch our new lending library for all ages! Borrow one of two WiiSports consoles, or a choice of fitness bins of equipment to help you incorporate activity into your day, either on your own or with friends and family. The lending library is free, however a credit card deposit is required in case of damage or lost items ($25 for the bins, $200 for the WiiSports). Items may be borrowed for a two-week period by calling the Comox Valley Sports Centre at (250) 334-9622 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Ask for the Family Picnic Bin (adult and child sized baseball gloves and baseballs, football, Frisbee, playgound ball, soccer ball), the Workout Bin (resistance tubing, weighted resistance ball, weights, jump rope, Total Body Toner DVD, pedometer), or the Older Adult Bin (pedometer, light walking weights, and power walking and resistance exercises DVDs).
